Lisa Gregory is a native of the City of Decatur. She is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Springfield (formerly Sangamon State University) earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Legal Studies and an Associate of Arts from Richland Community College.
She has served in a variety of State and Federal advocacy positions. Her employment with the Illinois General Assembly gives her a broad understanding of how state government and municipalities interact; her time at the Illinois Municipal League gave her valuable insight into the responsibilities, functions, and appropriate governance activities of a city council; her work in the Illinois State Treasurer’s office gave her a healthy respect for the importance of fiscal responsibility and accountability; and her health care advocacy efforts in Springfield and Washington, D.C. on behalf of the under and uninsured people served through federally qualified health centers taught her the critical importance of caring for others.
Since 2006 Lisa has served as the Executive Director of Public Information and Chief of Staff at Richland Community College. In this role she is the chief spokesperson for Richland and performs as a member of the Executive Leadership Staff.
She was elected to the Decatur City council on April 7, 2015, and will serve through March 2019.
Lisa is active in the Decatur community and is a member of gt Church. She has three children and two grandchildren.
