Intersection, Lane and Road Closures

The following lane and road closures have been posted by or reported to the city’s Public Works Department.  Closures can result from work being done in the street, the street and lane closed for safety reasons as private contractor perform work or are provided by outside agencies, such as IDOT or the Macon County Highway Department, that may affect travel in and around Decatur.

Please reduce speed and follow all signs in the work areas.

Lane Closures

 

North Jasper Street

Burdick Plumbing will be performing a water main connection on North Jasper Street beginning Tuesday, May 26, 2020, weather permitting. This work will cause the closure of the southbound lanes, causing the northbound lanes to be one lane northbound and one lane southbound roughly 2,300 feet south of East Pershing Road on North Jasper Street starting at 7:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2020 and will continue to approximately 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 3, 2020. Road Closures

2500-2600 E Kile St

City Crews will be performing ditch cleaning in the 2500 to 2600 blocks of East Kile Street beginning Tuesday, June 2, 2020, weather permitting. This work will cause the total closure of the 2500 to 2600 blocks of East Kile Street starting at 7:00 a.m., and will continue to approximately 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 2, 2020. 2800-2900 blocks of N 26th Street

Hickory Point Road

Dunn Company will be performing patching and paving work on Hickory Point Road beginning Tuesday, May 26, 2020, weather permitting. This work will cause the total closure of Hickory Point Road from Greenswitch Road to Koester starting at 6:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2020 and will continue to approximately 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 2, 2020. Detour route will be as follows: Hickory Point Road, North on Greenswitch Road, West on Illiniwick Road, South on Route 51, East on Barnett and South on Koester and Hickory Point Road, South on Greenswitch Road, West on Mound Road, North on Route 51, East to Barnett and South on Koester. County Highway 18 (School Road)

The City of Decatur received the following press release from the Macon County Highway Department:
Weather Permitting; CH 18 (School Rd.) will be closed between Illinois Route 48 and TR 292 (Friends Creek Park Rd.) for bridge replacement. Starting Monday, April 7, 2020 until approximately July 6, 2020.
