Recycle & Reuse

Dear Homeowner,

Living in a clean, healthy waste free environment is not only good for your families' health but also a good investment.

We suggest you reduce the amount of waste you generate, reuse materials that are still in good condition (if you can't use it - give it to someone who will), and recycle materials that are accepted in our area. This information will help you identify many opportunities to reuse and recycle an assortment of materials. Only when these options have been practiced should materials be considered waste, garbage, or trash and placed out for disposal.

When placing materials out for disposal they should be properly packaged in plastic garbage bags or garbage cans with lids. Sharp objects such as syringes or broken glass should be wrapped to protect your sanitation worker.

Occasionally special collections are held for hard to dispose of items such as household hazardous wastes or computer/electrical equipment. Watch for advertisements in the local paper announcing dates for these collections.
