How Can I Find More Information in the Map?

To view more detailed information included in the map - for instance, which tax code is used for a particular tax parcel or what sports facilities are at a particular park - use the Identify button. The Identify button can be found in the toolbar in the upper right hand corner of the map. Press and release the button to activate the tool. Then bring the cursor over the location where you want more information and click the map.

A small label will be added to the map, showing the location that you clicked as well as some additional information about visible layers at that location.

If you move your cursor over that label, you will see a drop-down list of all the visible layers at that location. The layer name is in parentheses.

You can choose any one of these layers to see additional information. You will only be able to see more information about layers that are turned on (checked in the Map Contents window). So if you want to find out more about, for instance, FEMA flood zone designations, you should turn on the Flood Zones layer.
