9/5/2011 4835 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr.
First Battalion (E-3, E-4, E-5, E-6, T-1, B-1, 312, & 701) responded to a First Alarm for a report of garage fire. Engine 5 arrived on scene, took command, and reported a dumpster on fire that had extended into the garage attic space. The first unit was locked to gain entry, so Engine 5 went to the next units and pulled ceiling to prevent extension down the length of the attic. Battalion 1 arrived, assumed command and ordered Engine 4 to provide the hydrant connection to Engine 5. Engine 4 arrived and made the hydrant connection. Engine 3 arrived and was ordered to take a backup line. Tower 1 was ordered to check for fire extension. Engine 6 was assigned RIT. A Condition 1 was called. The fire was quickly extinguished. Overhaul was completed. 701 investigated.
