City to Hold Budget Media Briefing Friday
DECATUR - The City of Decatur will hold a press briefing at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 13 in the City Council chamber of the Decatur Civic Center to discuss the proposed fiscal year 2009-2010 city budget which the Decatur City Council will begin discussing during Monday night’s regularly scheduled meeting.
Budgets will be available to the media beginning Friday morning along with the regular city council packet. A series of budget meetings have also been scheduled for the following dates and times:
- Monday, March 16: 5:30p.m. - Budget Introduction/Overview
- Saturday, March 21: 8:00a.m. - Police and Economic Development Departments
- Monday, March 23: 6:30p.m. - Fire and Water Departments
- Saturday, March 28: 8:00a.m. - Engineering and Administrative (Finance, City Manager, Management Services, Legal)
- Monday, March 30: 5:30p.m. - Final Department discussion, funded Agencies and Concluding Remarks
