FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CITY SEEKING SUGGESTIONS ON GOALS UNTIL 5pm FRIDAY
DECATUR - The City of Decatur will continue to seek public input on its next set of community goals and priorities through 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6.
Residents can take an online survey at http://www.decaturil.gov to let the city know what they think top priorities should be over the next 12-24 months and beyond. If residents do not have internet access, they can call 424-2753 with their list of goals and priorities.
The Decatur City Council on Wednesday met to start the process of determining new goals and priorities for the city. City staff will now collect public suggestions and add those to a list of items suggested during the meeting and council will get together again to prioritize those items as they move forward with the goal-setting process.
Over the last several years the Council has worked to set goals for the Decatur community, items which serve as a roadmap for council and city staff efforts as we work to grow and develop the city. The Council determined that addressing water and police needs and improving neighborhoods were top priorities for the past year. While the pursuit of those goals will continue, the time has come for the council to begin establishing and updating priorities.
