SNOW EMERGENCY ISSUED, BUSES RUN
ALTERED ROUTES DUE TO WEATHER
DECATUR - The City of Decatur has issued a Code 2 Snow Emergency until further notice prohibiting parking in certain areas and the Decatur Public Transit System has altered its route schedule due to the heavy snow.
Under snow emergency regulations, the parking, leaving or standing of any vehicle is prohibited on designated Emergency Snow Routes marked with read and white signs reading “Emergency Snow Route, No Parking After 2” Snowfall, Tow Away Zone.” Violators of snow emergency regulations are subject to fines and towing.
In addition, City buses are currently operating on roads that have been plowed and will bypass side roads that have not yet been plowed until they can be cleared. Call 424-2800 for more information on bus schedules or Billy Tyus at 424-2753 for more information on this release.
