Mission Statement
The mission and purpose of the Decatur Police Auxiliary Unit is to augment the officers of the Decatur Police Department by providing crowd control and traffic control at community and civic events.
The unit provides security for municipal properties, other designated areas and responds to calls for Police services as directed by proper authority. It is also the mission of the Decatur Police Auxiliary Unit to provide emergency Police services during times of disasters and local emergencies.
The Decatur Police Auxiliary Unit is accepting applications for Auxiliary Police Officer candidates for a future training class. Prior to submitting an application, interested candidates should read through the information provided on the left side of this page to learn more about the requirements for becoming an Auxiliary Officer, initial training, and the duties and responsibilities of an Officer.
